Our history in the shipping industry goes all the way back to the early 19th century, when our family was the largest private ship-builder in the Netherlands (based on the number of ships). Over the years, almost the entire family ended up working in the shipping industry 


In 2002, Jan Hooites took over Engine Service Holland BV and kept doing what he excelled at: servicing marine diesel engines from all major manufacturers.

Over the years, we caught the diesel engine ‘bug’ and we helped grow the company through our vision and combined forces. Our long-term clients kept coming to us for maintenance. After much thought and consideration, we decided to keep helping the people who rely on our expertise. Which is how HODRA came about. We are doing our best to keep the family name alive, but the most important thing of all is that we can keep helping our clients.
